The world is quickly shifting to extreme perspectives and very, very soon concepts relating to Christianity and God would cease or just faintly exist in the hearts of men. Soon, it would be considered madness and perhaps in the near future even as propaganda. This is the age where Man's knowledge is taking over, where the lines between right and wrong (which used to be very distinctive) is blurring, where deception parades itself as truth and tolerance. It's a sad fact but it is here, it is reality and we are living in this present condition.
Everything has to be seen to be believed, everything should be rational and logical, everything has to have a scientific explanation to be 'normal'... anything that Science cannot define is considered 'abnormal' , different, hence wrong. What made me sigh during one of our discussions in class about delusions and hallucinations (mental health) of for example somebody who claims that they hear the voice of God- was when one of my classmates asked our tutor: 'what if it is real?' and the immediate reply was- 'then the person is a nutter'. I do understand and respect that that is my tutor's opinion and of course based on science, but the reply kind of signified the thinking that most people have now. That there is hardly a place to accomodate anything supernatural, much more Godly- such as healings, the power of prayer and faith, miracles, prophecy, gift of tongues & interpretation, discernment, gift of dreams and many other spiritual gifts that God gives to His children. Simply because it is beyond the logical and the rational, science cannot explain it away, in fact nothing can because these things belong to the realm of the supernatural (not the spooky type of supernatural but I am referring to the heavenly one). People's thinking are boxed within the social constructs of men and for them to cross over beyond their man-made comfort zone, will only take God's supernatural power. The people of the world is limited to their own fallible theories, concepts and realities. They may not be aware, but it is ignorance and arrogance to deny and challenge the truth that the creation has a Creator.
This reminded me again of the famous author C.S. Lewis. He used to be a staunch atheist:
"My argument against God was that the universe seemed so cruel and unjust. But how had I got this idea of just and unjust? A man does not call a line crooked unless he has some idea of a straight line. What was I comparing this universe with when I called it unjust?"
— C.S. Lewis (Mere Christianity)
and he was quite an intellectual- highly honoured in the world of academia and literature but one day, in his own words he said: "I gave in, and admitted that God was God", amen. Here are a couple of videos from his conversion that I thought would be quite good to share:
I hope you enjoyed that as much as I did.... I really enjoy life-changing testimonies, it is such a joy to behold how God breaks down even the most cynic amongst us and tide them over to Eternal life. That is God's transforming power.
What honestly, still never fails to surprise me though, is how a lot of people out there ishungering and thirsting for the Lord despite the world and it's ways. God is still calling out, He is still drawing man to Him and there is that pull...praise the Lord for His mercy and compassion. For christians- we have the responsibility to stand and stay put in our post of duty, which I know for a fact can be hard sometimes, as we are constantly being challenged specially by our own flesh.
For example, one of the hardest things I have to surrender is the fear of being an outcast...somehow I wanted to be accepted by other people, by the world. I tried to blend in and mingle, but something inside me knows that I am different, that I belong to Christ and not the world and it took me a long, long time to see that. When that truth finally broke through to me, my eyes were opened and it became real in my life and by God's grace I am learning to be more brave and to stand in what I believe in, by His strength.
Time will come, when being a follower of Christ and a believer in God won't be tolerated by societies at large anymore, hence the squeezing time...but we are walking in His strength and will and the rapture will come. I know to the world this sounds incredulous, to them it is airy-fairy, a fairytale that has been re-told so many times that it means nothing to them...but for us who believe, for us who know that the prophecies of the holy Script will take place and is taking place- it means life to us. Jesus Christ is our treasure, He is our portion in this life as we are to Him.
For others to see the way, we have to stand our ground and we have to do it for God because we are His Bride body on earth. We are His hands, feet, we are walking billboards- living testimonies that there is a God and that He can change others the same way He did us.
It is a privelege, the highest honor to represent Christ and His attributes to a world who now barely know Him. We live in an increasingly evil age where almost everything is perverted and thwarted- from material to immaterial, but God has a way of escape and that is under the blood of the Lamb. There is hope- God is hope.
Jesus Christ is still offering salvation of your soul...if you feel the pull, a stirring in your heart towards God then don't ignore it my friend. That is God. Seek Him. Read the Bible to start with and pray for understanding, cease to do wrong (you know in your heart what these things are, for we all do), just desire Him and the Lord will come to you. Just don't forget about Him...re-kindle that first love, amen.
Soon time is no more, so while we still have a little bit of time left, let us seek Christ for there is truly such a thing as 'the end', believe it or not...and we only have one lifetime to do this.
This blog is a journal about my walk with Christ. I decided to share my journey through blogging so others can see & know that God is not a figment of our imagination nor a product of any man-made philosophy but that He is real and is saving people in the here and now.
Pure Faith is not a platform for me, I am a simple believer...but I have a heavy burden for those who have not met Christ yet, my intent is for Christ to shine & be glorified through my life experiences which I wear proudly on my sleeve. It is also a joy for me to share testimonies from other people as we are living and walking evidences of God's work.
I share my personal reflections not to preach- but to witness to others (as I would if we are face to face), with the aim of encouraging and pointing the way to Jesus, who is the author and finisher of our faith. Amen. May you be blessed richly.
