Following Jesus

I remember one time when I bumped into my Mom's friend and after exchanging pleasantries, she asked me if my mother is still a 'born again' christian and I replied 'yes', then she added 'Oh well, you know because she suffered much in her life, she needs to eh?" I just smiled. She was a Methodist herself.
I was actually biting my tongue with that comment, not because it was about my mother but because being a christian is not what people assume it to be.

Serving Christ is not a phase, it's not a crutch that we use to get through life, it is well more and beyond that. The life of Jesus Christ is not a philosophy that we study, it is not understood with carnal minds and knowledge. We cannot, try as we may, use logic and science to make sense of it all BUT it takes a heart of faith, a heart void of any doubt for God to be able to break through and reveal Himself to us.
To know God is to take Him in, inside your heart, believing and obeying His word...to be true and faithful witnesses to our Bridegroom, amen. The scripture says in 2 Cor.3:6, that the letter killeth but the spirit giveth LIFE...

Our God is real, He is not a product of some made-up ideology. He is not a myth or a super hero character who healed people 2000 years ago. Friend, He is your Maker, the creator of all life...even if man's knowledge try to discredit who He really is does not change that truth.
To some, joining church or jumping into christianity as a phase or trend, or to even use Jesus as a crutch in life- only wanting Him in times of need- is not right.

If we decide to follow and serve God, let us do it with all of our heart, all of our soul and all of our mind. Knowing fully well that it is a serious matter and knowing what it requires- to lay down our lives, our will daily. Bringing the flesh into subjection, to be able to set ourselves aside and be God's Bride body in this age. Manifesting only Jesus. Amen.

God bless you all.

"Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil. " Ecclesiastes 12: 13-14

Choose Life

Death is slowly seeping in the world- both in the natural and the spiritual realm. It isn't unusual for us to see icons of death in clothing and accessories, movies, even in childrens cartoons- such as crossbones, skulls, even the grim reaper himself. The natural is just a reflection of the spiritual and the devil is marking us with death...if not physically then more so eternal separation from our God.
We don't really seem to notice these things or give much thought to it, we dismiss it as merely the fashion statement of the times but nevertheless the god of this evil age, satan, is evidently expressing his desire to separate us from our Maker.
He knows he does not have much time left, see and he'll try to get as many souls to death as he can BUT what a comfort to know that we have a God who fights for us. The very same God of the Old and New testament, is our God today and He is there to save us, protect us and give us eternal life if we choose to believe, serve and love Him.

We have a free moral agency, we get to choose who we serve and although people deny the concept of salvation, eternal life and death...it does not change the fact that these things are real, they actually exist. That in this lifetime, I can say with confidence that, one way or another- we have had contact with God and I mean 'God' himself.
Perhaps you've heard about the Bible and the stories of the bible, have heard a preacher somewhere, even as a conscience He is there reminding us that there is such a thing as right and wrong, that is why we feel guilt. In many a deathbed I'm pretty sure the reality of God's existence hits people hard but I won't wait for my deathbed, friend. I want to know the Lord, my Creator, in the here and now whilst I have a chance to repent and surrender and I thank God for His abundant grace and mercy, that He gave us the privelege of repentance. For giving us the blood covenant, His Holy Spirit.

Choosing Jesus Christ over the world is not an easy task despite the desire that we have because the flesh is constantly at war with the spirit and it takes the supernatural to overcome indeed. It takes unconditional love to be able to surrender all to Christ. His unconditional love and it may surprise you, but yours too. To be mature in the Lord requires that we trust and love Him unconditionally...and that means despite anything that may rock your way, you'd still be holding on unwavering and believing.
And it is a process friend, a series of slips and falls, a series of battling and being in the sidelines, until we reach the stage where we outgrow ourselves and see that to be able to overcome all, we have to lay down our all.
God wants us to trust Him 100%, He wants us to learn how to feel assured and secure in the midst of chaos and crisis and He will help you get there. In fact, he already did all the hard work, all we are left to do is to repent, believe, surrender, trust, love and to watch and wait for Him.

Friend, let us choose life over death. The world portrays itself as exciting, bubbling with activity and 'life' but if you look real close- what it really offers is death. It is rotting to the core and soon the Lord God would annihilate it.
There is still time albeit very little...with love, I pray that we turn back and repent on our wicked, dishonest ways and seek the Lord. There is no more hope, there is no other hope but Jesus Christ.
Despite what intellectuals or philosophers say- truth is not subjective, although that is how it is being packaged nowadays. There is truth in the midst of all the spiritualism, denominations and religions of the world- There is one truth and that is JESUS CHRIST.
May the Lord open our spiritual ears to hear, amen.

The Comforter Of the Soul

I am always at awe with my Lord. He is the sweetest presence in my life, He never judges me, never fails me, never gives up on me...ever. And when I finally decided to lay down my life for Him, there was no regret, but only a feeling of pure joy and surrender which washed down on me. I've never felt anything like it, no other human emotion comes close to it and I know it's because it came from Jesus.
Since I decided to stand up from my fall, I felt how the forces of the enemy came rushing back in, all around me...I know, I felt their anger- but I felt no fear because the God that I serve is the great God Almighty. It was even a comfort to know that once again I am considered a foe. Oftentimes the battles are overwhelming but I am glad that the Lord is the comforter of my soul. He settles me, calms all my fears and hushes all the other voices in my head.

One time I was just bawling my eyes out, I was grieved to the core of my soul and I didn't sleep for a couple of nights, worrying about my problem and then I felt the urge to get my bible and read and in my mind I said to myself- maybe the Lord wants to tell me something. So, I opened it, teary eyed and desiring to hear from Him- and there was one highlighted verse where my eyes immediately laid on:
"Thus saith the Lord; Refrain thy voice from weeping, and thine eyes from tears: for thy work shall be rewarded, saith the Lord...and there is hope in thine end, saith the Lord, that thy children shall come again to their own border".
It was Jeremiah 31: 16- 17 and boy, did that verse hit me hard, straight to my heart and again I cried, but I did cry this time because of the comforting words he told me. I suddenly felt His peace and the sweetest presence, like He was embracing me...it might sound unbelievable but that was what I felt. Jesus Christ, what a marvellous, most gracious father we have in Him.

When we feel the desire to love Him, to lay down our lives for Him- let us not forget that He loved us first...He laid down His life first. He is the perfect example of pure love, in fact, the only thing He wants to do is to love us. IF we give Him a chance...
The devil continually try to distract us from knowing Jesus, he appears to be good at it too. He uses technology, entertainment, women, fame, power and money to steer us away from our God but to those who fervently seek Him, there is a promise: in Matthew 7 and in other scriptures as well- the Lord promised that those who seek will receive, see? we just need to have more faith, we need to believe what God says.

Dear reader, hang in there. I know for myself how hard life can get, how difficult trials and temptations can become but we have a Father in heaven who knows everything we are going through. He knows it all and He can do something about it if you'd only allow Him.
Oft times our sin and our doubts hinder God from expressing all His attributes to you and I but if we repent of our wrongdoings, truly forgive those who have transgressed us, cast away all doubts and instead take Him at His word- then friend, I can guarantee that Jesus Christ will move in your life. He will become everything to you that you will never need anything else. With God all things are possible, only believe blog- reader, that is the key.
Amen.

"The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit." Psalm 34:18
