Eat The Book

Posted on Wednesday, April 21, 2010 | By Kaye | In ,

Living our day to day life, I have seen and experienced how vulnerable we are. The world is full of evil, some more subtler than others and without untrained eyes of the Holy Ghost- it is so easy to succumb and the only ones exempt are those who have God's spirit in them because their eyes are open. Even then we still trip and fall over. I just feel in my heart, in these end times our only protection is Jesus Christ. He is the only safe place and my heart is just heavy with that thought, that we need more of Him.
There is nothing else, friends, no matter how we try to substitute worldly pleasures or security- we will find out sometime along the way that there is no getting around it. We need God not just in our lives but in our very being, we need to be consumed by Him. We need His eyes to see, His voice to speak, His very thoughts in our head, His spirit in us. In short, to be one with Him in everything.
We need to let go of who we are, everything about us needs to be stripped clean. I know that is contrary to popular belief but there it is...God's ways are not the same as ours, it never was nor ever will. I'm not saying it's an easy thing to do, dying to yourself is a daily battle but God made a way through Calvary and we have to receive that gift. He opened a blood stained path for us which leads to eternity and His resurrection proved that in death there is life. We need to follow that same path for there is no other. There truly is no other...we need to die to our own desires and thoughts every single day. It is hard but it isn't impossible...neither will we be error free but under the blood, in His sight we already are perfect for he looks at us with eternal eyes.

In my heart I just truly pray that we receive God's word and message for our day. There's no use when we just look on and appreciate what God had done for others when we do not acknowledge it in our own lives. "Eat the book" that is what the angel said to John. We cannot forever sympathize, we have to make a decision. We have to believe, accept, receive and obey.
And I went unto the angel, and said unto him, Give me the little book. And he said unto me, Take it, and eat it up; and it shall make thy belly bitter, but it shall be in thy mouth sweet as honey. Rev.10:9
So, dear, dear friend do not be discouraged nor be fainthearted. God had arranged everything for us, all we need to do is believe Him, walk in His ways, and stay in our post of duty. He's right there next to you- to bring you back in the middle road if you go astray. I know how it feels when we get discouraged because there are days, even weeks, months or years when we just seem to stumble along and fail and feelings of shame and depression takes over, for I too have gone that path countless times- BUT  remember this- God is greater than our failures, He is greater than our unbelief. If there is a stirring in your heart right now, that is God Himself He is drawing you to Him. Don't ignore that still, small voice...that same stirring caused my heart to repent and that saved me. Even now, every single day- the need to have more of God is just on-going and I am grateful I feel that everyday. That is His grace and mercy to me...and to you too if you'll receive it.
As for me, I'm looking forward to going home soon.  Home in eternal land with the one true love of my heart. Amen.
